Notes:
- Dual and single-core laptops have a reduced frame rate when screen sharing (around 5 frames per second). For optimum screen-sharing performance on laptops, we recommend a quad-core processor or higher.
- Linux requires a processor or graphics card that can support OpenGL 2.0 or higher.
Bandwidth requirements
The bandwidth used by Zoom will be optimized for the best experience based on the participant‘s’ network. It will automatically adjust for 3G, WiFi, or wired environments.
Recommended bandwidth for meetings and webinar panelists:
- For 1:1 video calling:
- For high-quality video: 600kbps (up/down)
- For 720p HD video: 1.2Mbps (up/down)
- For 1080p HD video: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down)
- For group video calling:
- For high-quality video: 1.0 Mbps/600kbps (up/down)
- For 720p HD video: 2.6Mbps/1.8Mbps (up/down)
- For 1080p HD video: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down)
- For gallery view receiving: 2.0Mbps (25 views), 4.0Mbps (49 views)

Recommended bandwidth over WiFi:
- For 1:1 video calling: 600kbps (up/down) for high quality video and 1.2 Mbps (up/down) for HD video
- For group video calling: 600kbps/1.2Mbps (up/down) for high quality video. For gallery view: 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down).
Google Meet
Supported web browsers
Hangouts support the current version and 1 previous major release of the browsers listed below:

Meet has limited support in Microsoft Internet Explorer® 11, and Microsoft Edge provides a better Meet experience. If you want to use Internet Explorer for Meet, you need to download and install the latest version of the Google Video Support plugin.
For Meet video meetings, you need:
- A broadband connection to the internet. Outbound signals from a participant in all situations must meet a 3.2 mbps bandwidth requirement. Inbound signals depend on the number of participants: 2.6 mbps with 2 participants. 3.2 mbps with 5 participants.
- A built-in web camera or external USB camera.
Note: Other devices, such as virtual cameras, might not work with Meet. - 2.2 GHz Intel 2nd-generation i3/i5/i7, AMD equivalent or better, processor to support HD video.
